Like Minded Project - Neomad

More here

This was done by a friend of mine in a remote indigenous community in western Australia. It is a fantastic realisation of digital storytelling that has effectively reinterpreted traditional indigenous storytelling into a modern, graphic novel format. The contexts of the story have been changed to suit this future setting, however the traditional beliefs of the dreaming has been maintained and carried through. While this is a fully orchestrated project, I think the ideals can be compared with my project. Firstly, it uses the technology available well through a mixture of stills, animation, audio and visual - a brilliant extension of the traditional graphic novel. In the same way, my project uses the advent of geomapping, where the GPS location of an upload can be recorded and shown on a map. As well as this, it teaches through storytelling. This is far more captivating and encourages the user to discover more to fill in gaps in the story. I think this am important tool of storytelling to excite and lead to further reading and research.

I would be really to realise my project in the same way this has been done. It is great to see a really strong idea translated into a design and executed really effectively.
